Bourbaki Cinema/Bar, Lucerne

New styling for a well-known bar

A circular panoramic painting, «The Bourbaki Panorama», depicts the internment of the French eastern army in neutral Switzerland at the end of the 1870–71 Franco-Prussian War, and is exhibited on the upper floor of the museum and cultural centre of the same name in Lucerne. It’s a European cultural monument. Our client, Neugass Kino AG, operates studio cinemas in the basement and the popular Bourbaki Bar on the ground floor. Its special highlight is the heritage-protected slewing ring, which sets the bar in motion.

As general contractor, teamtischer accompanied the refurbishment of the bar, which included construction of new counters, service facilities, and refrigerated display cases, as well as associated adaptations of sanitary and electrical installations.

The well-known bar now boasts a new, fresh design, and will continue to be a popular platform for cozy gatherings and cultural events in Luzern.
