Riffraff, Zurich
teamischer Enters the World of Film
The Riffraff in Zurich is one of the city's best-known cinemas; in its building on Neugasse, the first films were shown way back in 1913. Used as a gaming room from the ‘70s to the ‘90s, the Riffraff revived its cinema tradition when it reopened in 1998. Its special setting offers a cinematic experience that focuses on sensual perception. The cinema halls are connected by a spacious bar, and the atmosphere is engaging and comfortable.
teamtischer was responsible for the redesign of the custom-made riser platforms, new floor coverings, reparation and addition of lighting, and other adaptations. The special feature of the project was the rebuilding of the halls in stages, thus enabling two of the four cinemas to always remain open, while the common areas were unaffected and accessible throughout. For teamtischer, the project was an exciting entry into the world of film.
