Starbucks on the Plaine de Plainpalais in Geneva

Much More
Than a Remodeling

The main role in this play belongs to a very old building near Geneva's famous Plaine de Plainpalais. For years, it had been home to a popular Starbucks café. Now, the somewhat outdated coffee house was expected to shine with a new look. And the challenge was daunting.

In addition to the renovation scenario of short construction times (which teamtischer is quite familiar with), complications arose from the removal of old structures and the many different authorities involved. And this time, it was also about expanding the premises. For this purpose, an existing doctor's office was closed and taken apart in a short time. Thus, the entire space layout was changed, the front and the back bar completely rebuilt, and new furniture brought in and installed.

In the basement, new staff rooms, an office, and a warehouse were added, and a new access staircase was built. The coordination and construction of the new ventilation system placed particularly complex demands on our planners. Ventilation and cooling pipes, indispensable for this operation, had to be routed through several third-party properties (offices, cellars, practices, flat roofs).

What seemed almost impossible was accomplished in a record-breaking, short closing time of just 2 1/2 weeks, thanks to the tireless efforts of our specialists and experienced trade partners. We are proud – and our client is happy!
