What do you do when Starbucks orders a new design for one of its stores? You feel very happy, then you get to work. The branch at Centralbahnplatz in Basel had to be renovated according to the parameters of the Starbucks Design Lab. We had two weeks of renovation time and five days of closure, and the rest periods of the adjacent hotel had to be considered. Detailed timing was drawn up for all 12 trades, which determined the dismantling, electrical, sanitary, ventilation, cooling system, painting, and floor work, up to the interior fittings.

To implement the sophisticated designs with their standardized individual structures, numerous elements were prefabricated in advance, so that they could be quickly assembled on site. So, in the end, the tight timing was just right.
